It was around six pm on a Friday and although we were promised a dry evening, it hadn't given up on raining! Mark and me were sitting discussing the recent sports, ready for the next fuel drain to arrive. Before long we got a call from a girl on a business expedition who had pulled into the Esso petrol garage and filled petrol in her diesel BMW rental by mistake. The poor lady was quite affected it seemed, telling me "I still cannot believe I've messed up the car! I'm so accustomed to putting petrol in my petrol car I completely didn't remember I was driving a diesel!" I instructed her to calm down and not to be concerned, also that these things sadly can happen. She was able to move the car into a protected spot and, seeing as it was just a short distance off from our van, we could find the lady almost instantly. The wrong fuel was drained so she could once again go back to the Premier Inn she was living in. Although we got really soaked, it was all worthwhile seeing her drive away calm and much less apprehensive. Yet another job well done in my opinion!
